During a recent encounter at an airport, former New York City Mayor Eric Adams was caught on camera in a heated exchange, telling a woman to “go f*** yourself.” This incident unfolded after Adams disembarked from a flight from New York to Dallas, Texas, with the footage initially surfacing on Reddit.

The confrontation began when the woman, who appeared to be trying to provoke Adams, remarked, “I would love it if you punched me in the face.” In response, Adams retorted, “I’m not mayor anymore, you can go f*** yourself.”

The verbal sparring continued with the woman replying, “Okay, you can get f***ed too,” and punctuating their exchange with a final “Yeah, f*** you!”

As Adams made his way across the bridge back into the airport, he reiterated, “I’m not mayor anymore, those days are over,” signaling the end of the tense interaction.

‘Okay, you can get f***ed too,’ she responded. ‘Yeah, f*** you!’ 

As Adams walked past her on the bridge back into the airport, he said: ‘I’m not mayor anymore, those days are over.’ 

Adams then turned to the woman and said: ‘You’re gonna see the Brooklyn in me.’ 

She responded: ‘Yeah, good, thank God, damn… Now I don’t have to see your ugly a** face everywhere, damn.’ 

‘That’s nice,’ Adams added as he walked into the airport.

The woman appeared to be attempting to antagonize Adams into a fight for the camera, to which he shot back: ‘I’m not mayor anymore, you can go f*** yourself’

Following the confrontation, Adams’s spokesman Todd Shapiro told the New York Post that he is now a ‘private citizen and was harassed.’ 

Shapiro said the clip was ‘selectively edited’ and lacked ‘critical context’.

Adams shared the Post’s story on X last night and wrote: ‘Exactly.’ 

His reappearance in public comes days after his new cryptocurrency came under scrutiny from investors. 

The cryptocurrency coin, dubbed ‘NYC Token’, initially surged to around $580 million in value after Adams launched it to the market on Monday. 

He marketed the token, which has no affiliation with the New York City government, as being ‘built to fight the rapid spread of antisemitism and anti-Americanism’.

The former mayor, who launched the token in Times Square on Monday, urged people to back his venture, writing on X: ‘This thing is about to take off like crazy.’  

The coin then rapidly plummeted to less than $100 million, leading to allegations that Adams and his partners in the venture pulled off what is known as a ‘rug pull’. 

This is a tactic in which cryptocurrency creators boost the value of a coin with the expectation that they will sell when it peaks, leaving other investors holding assets worth significantly less.

The company denied the allegations in a statement to X and rejected any wrongdoing. 

‘Given the overwhelming support and demand for the token at launch, our partners had to rebalance the liquidity,’ the company said. 

‘We are aware of reports flagging the transactions, removing liquidity from the pool. The team commenced the funds for TWAP and added additional funds to the liquidity pool.’ 

The company signed off on the statement: ‘We’re in it for the long haul!’ 

Adams’s role in the company is not clear, and he has not publicly commented on the accusations. The Daily Mail has contacted Adams’s representatives. 

Representatives for NYC Token told Bloomberg that the activity that caused the token to rise and fall in value was intended to help ensure it was ‘running smoothly’.

‘The team has not sold any tokens and is subject to lockups and transfer restrictions. The team has not withdrawn any money from the account,’ the spokesman said.
