Secrets We Keep is a Netflix Original limited series out of Denmark that premiered on May 15, 2025.
The six-part mystery thriller unfolds in a high-end suburb of Copenhagen, where nearly every family employs an au pair from the Philippines. Cecilie (Marie Bach Hansen), a successful executive, and her husband Mike (Simon Sears) deeply appreciate their young au pair, Angel (Excel Busano), who assists with household tasks and childcare. Next door, their neighbors (Lars Ranthe and Danica Curcic) bring in their own au pair, Angel’s dear friend, Ruby (Donna Levkovski), making this affluent community feel even more interconnected.
Yet, their joyful and secure environment is abruptly disrupted when Ruby disappears without a trace, leading Cecilie to take decisive action. As she seeks the truth behind Ruby’s disappearance, Cecilie realizes her entire community is under suspicion, with her life thrown into turmoil as she faces the harsh reality that someone close to her might be involved in this mystery.

Where Was Secrets We Keep Filmed?
Secrets We Keep was indeed filmed in Denmark, with the creators making sure to add realism and weight to their story by shooting on location in and around Copenhagen and its wealthiest suburbs.
Copenhagen’s North Coast was especially featured to help portray the dark underbelly behind the show’s main characters’ and homes’ glossy, seemingly-perfect exteriors. Actual structures in and around Copenhagen were also utilized as both exterior and interior filming locations to contribute to the show’s overall aesthetic. Two such places were the Gotfred Tvedes mansion and Hvidøre House, which are both mansions north of Denmark’s capital city, while the interior of an additional mansion on central Copenhagen’s Amaliegade Street was also utilized.
Secrets We Keep also used Copenhagen outdoor spaces like Bellevue Beach’s Temple Sea Bath and Ørsted Park to further build out and immerse viewers in the show’s world.
