WASHINGTON — On Wednesday, the first trailer for an anticipated documentary about First Lady Melania Trump made its premiere.
Entitled “MELANIA,” the documentary is scheduled for release in theaters on January 30, 2026.
The trailer begins with Melania Trump poised in the U.S. Capitol rotunda, preparing for her husband’s second inauguration. She faces the camera and remarks, “Here we go again.”
Promising viewers a chance to “witness history in the making,” the trailer sets the stage for the documentary.
The 104-minute film promises an “unprecedented behind-the-scenes look” into the 20 days of Melania Trump’s life leading up to President Donald Trump’s second inauguration on January 20, 2025. Directed by Brett Ratner, the documentary will be available through Amazon Prime Video.
In a voiceover during the trailer, Melania states, “Everyone wants to know, so here it is.”
The trailer ends with Melania calling “Mr. President” to say “congratulations.”
“Did you watch it?” President Trump can be heard saying on the phone.
“I did not. Yeah, I will see it on the news,” Melania Trump replies.
Amazon MGM Studios reportedly paid $40 million to get exclusive licensing rights for a streaming and theatrical release of the documentary.
The film also marks the first project that Ratner has directed since he was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, including actor Olivia Munn, in the early days of the #MeToo reckoning in November 2017. Ratner, whose lawyer denied the allegations, directed the “Rush Hour” film series, as well as “Red Dragon” and ’’X-Men: The Last Stand.”
