Numerous individuals sustained injuries in a mass stabbing incident that occurred in the heart of Los Angeles.
Authorities responded to the scene, transporting one person to the hospital, while five others were reported injured at two separate sites in the 500 block of W. 7th Street around 5:14 p.m.
A woman in her 30s reportedly endured a severe cut to her wrist, though her condition remains uncertain at this time.
Initial accounts suggest the violence erupted following a gathering at Zaya restaurant, located at the intersection of 7th and Olive Street, where two individuals were stabbed and another was hurt by a bottle.
Eyewitnesses described seeing a suspect fleeing the scene wielding a folding knife along 7th Street and Grand Avenue.
Footage captured by bystanders revealed a significant presence of firefighters and police officers at the bustling intersection, which was closed off on Sunday night.
Other video showed a woman in a white dress being wheeled into the back of an LAFD ambulance.
LAPD Central Division posted: “Reports of multiple people injured at 7th St and Flower. Officers have responded and closed off the area. Expect traffic delays in the area.”
Police later said two suspects were arrested at the scene.
Zaya is a lounge-style venue on 7th street. The restaurant markets itself as an upscale “dinner and a show” destination. The spot is known for its dim lighting, cocktails and live performances and is designed to feel more like a private party than a traditional restaurant, with tightly packed seating and a nightlife-driven crowd.
