On Thursday, during an appearance on “The Story” on Fox News Channel, Tom Homan, the White House border czar, announced plans for “mass deportation” efforts.
Homan explained, “ICE is continuing what it has been doing for the past 30 years, but now their workload has intensified due to the last four years of open border policies. Over 10 million individuals have crossed the border illegally during this time, many of whom pose public safety and national security threats. Therefore, ICE is working harder to address the consequences of these open border years, which saw a lack of immigration enforcement.”
He further stated, “I am committed to fulfilling the president’s promise of mass deportations, with a focus on prioritizing threats to public safety first. This targeted approach to enforcement is essential. While some people may be concerned about the scale of these deportations, it’s important to note that we are already seeing record numbers. Arresting those who pose the greatest danger to the community makes sense. Focusing on public safety and national security threats does not mean we will ignore others. As I’ve emphasized from the start, if you are in the country illegally, you are not exempt. We are actively searching, and we will remove you when found.”
