In a candid critique of San Francisco’s current challenges, former mayor Willie Brown has taken aim at the city’s far-left, accusing them of being ineffective and overly lenient on crime. Brown’s comments come amidst growing concerns over homelessness and drug abuse in the city he led from 1996 to 2004.
At 92, the seasoned Democratic figure shared his insights in an interview with Bill O’Reilly for the TV special “The Decline and Fall of San Francisco,” set to air on Thursday. Brown, who has long been a prominent voice in politics, reflected on his tenure as mayor, during which he was sometimes labeled a “mean guy” for advocating for common-sense social policies. O’Reilly noted that Brown had a reputation for being “fairly tough on crime.”
