Authorities have identified the individual suspected of carrying out a shooting at Old Dominion University as a former Army National Guard soldier previously convicted of aiding ISIS.
Federal sources confirmed to Fox News that the suspect is 36-year-old Mohamed Bailor Jalloh. He is a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Sierra Leone.
In 2017, Jalloh was convicted and sentenced to 11 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for his attempts to support ISIS, as reported by the Department of Justice. He had served in the Virginia National Guard prior to his conviction.
