At least four migrant detainees escaped from a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Newark during a riot where inmates attempted to seize control of the facility, according to sources and reports.

Several migrants fled from Delaney Hall Detention Facility after around 50 inmates started a revolt, toppling a wall in a dormitory, NJ.com reported.

The detainees were reportedly angered and driven to riot due to dissatisfaction with the quality and timing of meals provided at Delaney Hall, as reported by the outlet.

A manhunt is currently underway for the escaped detainees who were last seen running near Turnpike 78 and Delancey Street in Newark, according to the local publication.

Earlier Thursday, three-dozen people held a protest outside Delaney Hall, which has been an inflection point in the political debate over ICE with several House Democrats allegedly breaking into the facility last month.
