A teenage girl from Georgia, accused of killing her mother and stepfather, was denied bail on Tuesday after a charged hearing where family members presented arguments both supporting and opposing her release.

Seventeen-year-old Sarah Grace Patrick is charged with the murders of her mother, Kristin Brock, 41, and stepfather, James Brock, 45, who were found shot dead in their home on February 20, as reported by authorities. The discovery of their bodies was made by Patrick’s 5-year-old sister, and Patrick subsequently called 911, according to FOX 5.

Following the incident, Patrick allegedly used social media to spotlight the case while the search for the perpetrator was underway, using platforms like TikTok to raise awareness. She eventually turned herself in on July 8, as noted by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

Judge Dustin Hightower decided in favor of the prosecution, ruling that Patrick should remain in custody without the option for bail, emphasizing concerns about her being a “significant flight risk” and the potential “risk of witness intimidation.”

“This isn’t about television drama or entertainment,” Hightower stated. “We are here to apply the law… and I will do that to the best of my ability.”

Patrick’s attorney did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Patrick faces adult charges, including two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. Her trial is scheduled for January 5, 2026.
