In Florence, the renowned Uffizi Gallery faced a significant security breach after a cyberattack in February. Hackers gained access to sensitive information, including login details for the museum’s photo archive and surveillance camera locations, using the stolen data as leverage to extort funds. In response, the gallery swiftly relocated its invaluable collection, including jewels once owned by the Medici Family, who ruled Florence from 1434 to 1737, securing them in a vault at the Bank of Italy.
