Initial investigations have found the victim was a 32-year-old man.

French authorities found several stab wounds on the neck and back.

They believe that the man did not live in the commune of Pont-de-Metz but is originally from the region.

He is said to have had a habit of going for walks around the park in the evenings.

French prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into what they believe is a case of “intentional homicide”, according to Le Parisien.

The park has been described as “peaceful” – surrounded by a few houses, tennis courts and a river.

Around 20 police officers today were tasked with combing the surroundings to find more clues and “broader findings,” a police source said.

The area was previously cordoned off, but restrictions have now been lifted, it is understood.

It comes after a Brit woman was found dead in France – lying in a pool of blood at her home.

Cops said the victim, understood to be 65 years old, suffered “deep injuries caused by a sharp object”.

The victim’s body was found at her home in the village of Tremolat in the Dordogne, state prosecutor Sylvie Martins Guedes said.

The mum-of-four is said to have suffered multiple wounds to her chest, groin, arm, and leg.

Guedes added: “The injuries showed particular violence, and their location demonstrated a desire to kill.”

Meanwhile, a Brit tourist was killed in France after she was run down while jogging with her husband.

The unnamed 35-year-old woman was running on Avenue Charles-de-Gaulle in Beaune, when a car tragically hit her.

Emergency services scrambled to the scene but found the woman dead.

The driver, a 45-year-old local, was taken into custody by cops who are investigating the tragedy.

The British woman’s husband, who was running with her, was reportedly in shock but physically unharmed.

In January, a female Brit tragically died in a horror accidental ski crash in France with another UK tourist while on a difficult black slope.

A 62-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene following a skiing accident where she reportedly lost control and collided with another Brit at the Les Arcs resort.

According to the French news source Le Dauphine, the unnamed woman crashed head-on into a 35-year-old man on the Aiguille Rouge’s black slope.
