Hamas announced on Wednesday its willingness to agree to a ceasefire with Israel. However, the group has not yet supported the 60-day pause suggested by President Donald Trump the day prior.
Hamas representative Taher al-Nunu stated that the group is open to any plan that definitively concludes the conflict. Despite Trump’s growing calls for both Israel and Hamas to agree to a ceasefire, the specifics remain unresolved.
An Egyptian official mentioned that a Hamas delegation is set to engage in discussions in Cairo with Egyptian and Qatari mediators regarding Trump’s proposal on Wednesday.
Hamas has previously said it was willing to release the remaining 50 hostages as part of a ceasefire agreement, though it has noted that fewer than half of the hostages are still alive. In return, however, Hamas demands that Israel fully withdraw from Gaza and end the war.
