JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is dead after an overnight, wrong-way crash closed parts of the Hart Expressway.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. A man in his mid-40s was driving an Infinity heading west in the inside lane when a woman traveling eastbound in a Nissan Altima collided with him by driving in the wrong direction, as reported by officers.

The man is in stable condition, but the woman died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

JSO kept the westbound lanes of the Hart Expressway closed for parts of the morning to continue investigating the crash.
