Grieving moms dig with ‘bare hands’ to unearth the dark truth behind their missing and murdered children

In the scorching summer sun, Cheryl Holsonbake found herself making a two-hour drive from her residence to the rural area of Kern County, California. There, she searched any spot that resembled a shallow grave with her “bare hands.”

The matriarch was joined by two other mothers in search of answers for their children.

“We brought shovels and searched for my son,” Holsonbake recalled to Fox News Digital. “I believed that if I could just search with my own hands and locate him, I could bring him home, back to his family. That’s what we did on weekends.”

Today, the surviving “Bakersfield 3” moms are urging anyone with information to come forward.

“We need people to ask themselves, ‘Could this tip help a mother find her child, discover a shallow grave?’ ‘Would I want someone to do this for me?’” Holsonbake expressed. “Just reach out to us. We’re here to listen, because I’ll never stop searching. We’ll take it from there.”

“The Bakersfield 3: A Tale of Murder and Motherhood” premieres May 11th at 8 p.m. on ID and will stream on Max.
