The investigation into a military helicopter crash is currently active in Washington state after an aircraft went down on Wednesday night, authorities informed Fox News.
The incident occurred around Summit Lake, close to Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), as reported by the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
“We have been informed that the military lost communication with a helicopter in the region, and we are collaborating closely with JBLM to provide any necessary resources for assistance,” the post stated.
A spokesperson for the base said that the incident happened around 9 p.m. local time “in a rural area near the installation.”
