A dramatic video from a Mississippi school bus reveals the quick-thinking actions of nearly a dozen middle school students who responded when their bus driver suddenly lost consciousness while driving.
Footage from within the Hancock County School District bus shows driver Leah Taylor fainting due to an asthma attack, as the vehicle continued moving forward.
As Taylor began to slouch over, a student seated at the front noticed and instinctively grabbed the steering wheel, moments before Taylor momentarily regained her senses.

Several students rushed to the front as Taylor collapsed for the second time, this time falling backward.
One quick-thinking boy hit the brakes, while a girl administered Taylor’s medication, and other students called for assistance.

Hancock Middle School principal Melissa Saucier told local outlet WLOX she was “not surprised to hear that our kids remained calm and acted swiftly.”
“This emergency situation could have definitely been detrimental and they handled it exactly how they should have,” Saucier said. “We’re extremely proud of them.”

The students — McKenzy Finch, Jackson Casnave, Darrius Clark, Kayleigh Clark and Destiny Cornelius — were commended at a school pep rally, the outlet reported.
Taylor told WLOX she is feeling better and is thankful the students “saved her life.”
The Hancock County School District did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
