Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino’s engagement was secretly called off months ago, insiders have revealed.
Amid reports that the longtime couple has ended their relationship just weeks before they planned to walk down the aisle, TMZ has reported that the actress, 27, and entrepreneur, 41, have been ‘separated since January.’
It was initially shared by the outlet in February that their May wedding ceremony had been postponed. Sweeney and Davino began dating in 2018 and got engaged in 2022.
There were hints of trouble in the romance earlier this year when the actress started staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel and removed a photo of her and her now-ex from Instagram.
Sydney also deleted the slide of her and Jonathan sharing a New Year’s kiss from her Instagram carousel she posted on January 2.
Another clue came when the Euphoria star took a trip to Africa without him in early March.
Another source shared with People on Monday: ‘She’s exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.’
It was added, ‘She’s not ready to settle down. They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.’

It comes after someone in the star’s circle shared with DailyMail.com: ‘Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split.
‘Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.’
It was noted by the person close to the pair, ‘They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it. Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.’
The Spokane, Washing native’s career began ascending early in their relationship, with roles in Handmaid’s Tale and Euphoria cementing her as a bonafide star in Hollywood.
‘A lot of their issues stem from Sydney being extremely busy with work commitments,’ the insider dished.
She will soon star in a remake of the 1960s Jane Fonda classic Barbarella, and has already wrapped a biopic of pioneering 1980s boxer Christy Martin.
The actress also recently completed a movie called The Housemaid alongside It Ends With Us actor Brandon Sklenar, and has been cast as Kim Novak in Scandalous, about the Old Hollywood icon’s 1950s romance with Sammy Davis Jr.
Sydney, per the source, ‘doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship. Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together.’
