LOS ANGELES — The filming of Season 2 of “High Potential” on ABC is currently in progress. The show’s stars hint that audiences can expect richer character stories, fresh conflicts, and an unexpected plot twist.
During Essence Fest in New Orleans, Judy Reyes, who assumes the role of the intelligent Lieutenant Selena Soto, discussed with On The Red Carpet how the upcoming season will go beyond crime-solving by exploring the characters more deeply. “You’re going to learn more about the personal lives of all the characters,” Reyes promised, indicating richer background stories and emotional layers. Specifically for Soto, Reyes disclosed, “She faces a new adversary.”
Javicia Leslie, co-starring as the perceptive and candid Daph Forrester, alluded to intriguing developments. “The villain from last season continues into the start of this season,” Leslie hinted, before adding with a smile, “And it’s thrilling. You won’t guess who it is.”
The mystery drama centered around a brilliant but unconventional single mom solving crimes for the LAPD became a breakout hit in its debut season. If these hints are any indication, Season 2 is doubling down on its mix of heart, humor and high-stakes surprises.
