A high-speed police chase in California ended dramatically when a suspect, accused of killing a deputy, collided with a car on his motorcycle, as captured in striking video footage.

The video reveals the suspect hurtling down the 210 Freeway in San Bernardino County at speeds exceeding 150 mph. The motorcyclist is seen dangerously zigzagging through traffic and driving the wrong direction multiple times before crashing into a vehicle around 1:35 p.m. The impact sends the suspect flying through the air, landing on his back and sliding across the road while his motorcycle disintegrates into pieces.

Police officers swiftly surrounded the suspect and apprehended him. Footage shows the man upright with a neck brace before being placed on a gurney and airlifted to a hospital.

The crash occurred on the freeway’s eastbound side near Exit 56 in Ontario, as reported by FOX 11.

The suspect, armed and evading capture, was initially pursued after authorities responded to a domestic violence call involving a woman in Rancho Cucamonga around 12:37 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office.

The perpetrator allegedly shot at police and one deputy – identified as Deputy Andrew Nunez — was struck and airlifted to the hospital. He later died from his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
