It’s the reunion we’ve all been waiting for.

After stepping away from her role in daytime television a few months ago, Hoda Kotb is set to make a comeback on NBC as a guest host for Today With Jenna & Friends on Wednesday, May 28, where she’ll reveal a new endeavor.

Jenna Bush Hager disclosed this information on Tuesday, following hints about a mysterious guest during the show. She hinted to Today viewers that the guest was a “former basketball star turned bestselling author,” alluding to Kotb’s high school basketball days.

“Hoda Kotb is returning for one day only! She’s here to share details about her new project, and we’re thrilled to have her back,” Bush Hager shared on Today. “We were messaging at 5:30 this morning, as usual. I can’t wait.”

Kotb and Bush Hager co-hosted the fourth hour of The Today Show together for almost six years until her retirement. This will mark Kotb’s first appearance on Today With Jenna & Friends since her exit.

Bush Hager did not share any more details about Kotb’s appearance or her new project. However, Kotb has said that she is looking to develop a wellness app.

Kotb retired from The Today Show and daytime television this past January after 27 years at NBC. Her departure from the network was an emotional one that was capped off with a massive “Hoda-bration,” where a live audience and several celebrity guests gave her the send-off she deserved.

Kotb is expected to stay on at NBC as a correspondent for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. She has also teased that she expects to return to NBC for semi-monthly segments.

“I want to be a supporting character on a team that is already in place so that I’ll come in and just have a role there. And then I’m going to do my Making Space podcast, which I enjoy and love so much,” Kotb said, per Page Six. “And for The Today Show, I think we talked about doing something every four to six weeks, just a little something.”

Today with Jenna & Friends airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
