A Texas homeowner fatally shot two masked men late Friday after they posed as officers serving a warrant and opened fire on the house, police say.
Officer C. Jones informed Fox News Digital that the Houston Police Department reacted to shots fired in the southeast area of the city around midnight.
Reports indicated that the suspects were donned in bulletproof vests with “police” written on them, but the lack of patrol cars and flashing lights aroused the homeowner’s suspicion, according to authorities. Additionally, the two men wore masks obscuring their faces and badges hanging from their necks, Fox 26 Houston noted, citing police sources.

According to police, the men shot into the house before the residents returned fire, which resulted in the death of both men, the local station detailed. Officers arriving on the scene attempted CPR, but the men were declared dead right there, the report concluded.
