LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division has arrested a man from Hoover after a human trafficking probe.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that Hayel Fadhlesaleh Hasson, 52, thought he was interacting with a juvenile male on social media last month. In reality, the account was managed by an investigator. During their interactions, Hasson offered money for sexual contact with the minor and arranged to travel from Hoover to Limestone County to meet him.
Hasson was apprehended in Athens on Saturday and faces charges, including electronic solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex, and first-degree human trafficking.
“Investigations like this require time, patience, and dedication,” said Limestone County Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin. “Our investigators’ efforts in making this arrest are commendable. Their determination to protect children and bring predators to justice is unwavering. We are committed to doing everything possible to prevent the exploitation of our most vulnerable citizens.”
Hasson is being held in the Limestone County Detention Center pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
