ORLANDO, Fla. – Early Thursday morning, a group of dedicated volunteers gathered to prepare Thanksgiving meals for thousands, showcasing the spirit of community and generosity.

This marks the fourth year that the Salvation Army has partnered with Valencia College’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality program to host the Eric and Diane Holm Thanksgiving Community Meal.

Valencia College students, utilizing their culinary expertise, meticulously crafted a traditional Thanksgiving menu featuring turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, cookies, and pumpkin pie.

Each year, the Salvation Army hosts this welcoming sit-down meal, inviting everyone to join in for an occasion filled with community, connection, and fellowship.

“Thanksgiving is a special day, and The Salvation Army is committed to reminding everyone in our community that they are loved and valued, regardless of their current circumstances,” stated Major Roger Glick, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to fostering inclusivity and care.

“Thanksgiving is a special day, and The Salvation Army is determined to remind everyone in our community that they are loved and valued, whatever their present life circumstances may be,” Major Roger Glick said.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, South Orlando Stake, also helped to distribute thousands of to-go meals to individuals and families who were unable to attend in person.
