Warner: Iran Can, 'On Some Level of Truth,' Maybe Say It Won War

In a recent appearance on MS NOW’s “The Last Word,” Senator Mark Warner of Virginia shared his insights on the current geopolitical dynamics involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. During Tuesday’s broadcast, Warner highlighted a critical point often overlooked in military strategy: “you cannot bomb an adversary into submission.” He underscored the limits of military force by referencing the extensive military sorties conducted against Iran, suggesting that history has shown the ineffectiveness of such approaches in achieving definitive victory.

Senator Warner elaborated on the situation by noting that, despite the aggressive military actions carried out, the outcome is not as straightforward as one might hope. “In many respects, 46 days into this conflict, America finds itself in a weakened position,” he remarked. Warner pointed out that the Iranian regime, which has become increasingly radical, can legitimately claim a strategic victory against both America and Israel. This assertion is bolstered by Iran’s enhanced ballistic missile capabilities and the strategic closure of critical maritime routes.

Moreover, Warner highlighted the complexities America would face if it decided to target Iran’s enriched uranium facilities. Such an operation, he explained, would require an immense military commitment—10,000 soldiers to establish a secure perimeter. Additionally, any attempt to deploy special operations forces would be fraught with the risk of Iranian retaliation, as they possess the capacity to launch counterattacks.
