Described as “a love letter to mothers, sons, and hustlers of NYC,” Teyana Taylor stars in the new Focus Features drama, A Thousand and One. Luckily, we have you covered on how you can watch it!
Taking place in New York City, the movie follows Taylor’s character as she kidnaps her son from the foster-care system. The logline says the duo “set out to reclaim their sense of home, identity, and stability” all while holding onto their secret.

WHERE TO WATCH A THOUSAND AND ONE:
As of now, the only way to watch A Thousand and One is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, March 31. You can find a local showing on Fandango. In the meantime, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or buy on digital platforms like Prime Video, Vudu, YouTube and Apple, or become available to stream on Peacock. WHEN WILL A THOUSAND AND ONE COME TO STREAMING?
While a streaming release date for A Thousand and One has not yet been announced, we can make an estimate on when it will come to Peacock based on another Focus Features film.
Armageddon Time, which was released in theaters on Oct. 28, 2022, finally landed on Peacock on Feb. 17, 2023 — almost four months after its initial release. If A Thousand and One follows the same trajectory, we may not be able to stream it until late July or early August. But if it follows the 45-day strategy that most Peacock films use, it could come to the platform as early as mid-May 2023.
IS A THOUSAND AND ONE ON HBO MAX?
No, A Thousand and One will not be on HBO Max because it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. In the past, the company released its movies on HBO Max and in theaters at the same time. However, they have since stopped doing that and now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
IS A THOUSAND AND ONE ON NETFLIX?
No, A Thousand and One will not be streaming on Netflix — at least not any time soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a theater or wait for it to become available on Peacock.
