There’s a new 2025 Smurfs movie coming to theaters this weekend, and this time, it’s entirely animated.
Directed by Chris Miller (known for Shrek the Third and Puss in Boots) with a screenplay by Pam Brady, this upcoming musical comedy for children marks another reboot of the series based on the 1950s The Smurfs comic book by Belgian artist Peyo. Grammy-winning pop star Rihanna takes on the dual role of producer and voice actor for Smurfette, the sole female Smurf in her village. The extensive Smurfs voice cast features John Goodman as Papa Smurf, as well as James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Jimmy Kimmel, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, and Kurt Russell.

The Smurfs 2025 film will be exclusively available in theaters, with its U.S. premiere scheduled for Friday, July 18. To find a screening near you, you can use Fandango. Currently, Smurfs 2025 is not available for online streaming.
Is the Smurfs movie 2025 streaming on Netflix?
Smurfs 2025 is not streaming on Netflix, and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Paramount Pictures release. Almost all Paramount movies go to Paramount’s streaming platform, Paramount+.
Paramount+ offers two subscription plans. The ad-supported Essential plan costs $7.99/month, while the ad-free Premium plan (which comes with Showtime and live CBS) costs $12.99/month. New subscribers can take advantage of a seven-day free trial.
Is Smurfs 2025 streaming on Disney Plus?
Smurfs 2025 is not streaming on Disney+, and will not be on Disney+ any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Paramount release and not a Disney movie. Not every animated movie is a Disney movie! If you want to watch Smurfs 2025 movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Paramount+.
Is Smurfs 2025 streaming on Paramount+?
The Smurfs 2025 Paramount+ streaming date has not yet been announced. Right now, the movie is only in theaters. That said, we do expect to see Smurfs 2025 streaming on Paramount+ eventually, but we’re not sure when. Another recent Paramount film, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, was released on digital platforms one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Paramount+ about two months after opening in theaters.
If Smurfs 2025 follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital around mid-August 2025, and streaming on Paramount+ around mid-September 2025.
But this is all speculation. If you want to watch the Smurfs right away, you can catch the movie in theaters.
