Previously, we discussed indications that tensions were easing between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump. After a previous conflict, Musk took a notable step towards reconciliation by expressing regret for some of his previous comments.
I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.

Later on Wednesday, Trump commented to The NY Post about Musk’s morning tweet apologizing, “I thought it was very nice that he did that.”
The New York Times has also detailed the early stages of this reconciliation process. Although one must consider the source, the report aligns with available evidence. It seems like a strategic release of information to highlight progress in their relationship.
Elon Musk reached out to Donald Trump after having private conversations with Vice President JD Vance and the White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles, about fostering peace between the two of them. This information comes from two anonymous sources familiar with these private discussions.
It sounds like JD Vance was testing his diplomacy chops, and it looks like it bore fruit. He had been supportive of Trump but had indicated in a podcast interview with Theo Von that they could ultimately work it out if Elon “chilled out.”
So we’ll have to see, but it does sound like we are down the track several steps toward an eventual reunion.
