Thousands of users have reported issues with the social media platform.

WASHINGTON — X, formerly known as Twitter, was down for thousands of users in the U.S. on Saturday morning.

By 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, over 25,000 users reported problems with the social media platform on the outage tracking site DownDetector. The reason for the outage remains unclear.

By 9:57 a.m. ET, X was working normally for some users.

Earlier this week, X users experienced performance issues on the platform.

On Friday night, X said it was still experiencing issues from the May 22 outage.

“We are still facing issues due to yesterday’s data center outage. Login and signup services are down for some users, and there might be delays in notifications and Premium features. Our team is working around the clock to fix this. Thank you for your patience—updates will be provided shortly,” the engineering team announced on X.
