Authorities are urging the public to steer clear of the vicinity around Oldfield Crossing Drive and Old St. Augustine Road as they conduct an investigation into a shooting incident.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is probing a shooting that occurred near the Lowe’s in the Mandarin area on Sunday.

During a press conference held Sunday afternoon, officials from the JSO reported receiving a call around 2 p.m. regarding a shooting incident at the intersection of Oldfield Crossing Drive and Old St. Augustine Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and stomach. He was immediately transported to a hospital, where he is battling life-threatening injuries.

Further down the road, near Old St. Augustine Road and Bartram Park Blvd., police located a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. Inside, one individual was found with a gunshot wound to the wrist.

Investigators revealed that the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two individuals in the parking lot of Lowe’s. While specifics about the dispute remain unclear, authorities confirmed that both parties exchanged gunfire.

Everyone involved is believed to be in custody.
