A Jacksonville man is on the mend after an incident involving his roommate, who allegedly shot him, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities were alerted to the situation at around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to Sgt. Richardson of the Violent Crimes Unit. Officers swiftly responded to the residence located on Sunland Drive, which is north of Beach Boulevard.
Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his leg and foot. Initial investigations suggest that the victim was asleep in his room when his roommate entered and shot him several times, as outlined by Sgt. Richardson.
Fortunately, the injuries sustained were not life-threatening, and the victim was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was later detained during a traffic stop after traveling into St. Johns County, Richardson said.
With the investigation still being in its early stages, JSO said it was unsure of the motivation behind the shooting.
