Police said that the man had over 400 files on various devices in his home.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A suspect has been apprehended and charged following the discovery of more than 400 files containing child sexual abuse material within his residence, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO says the man, Ernesto Davila, 57, was already under police investigation after being accused of sexual battery on a minor in June 2025.

According to a police report, a victim had reported that they had been “touched inappropriately for several years” by Davila. In the same report, Davila’s sister had reported “suspicious items” found in his apartment, such as concealed cameras and memory cards.

JSO says that based on available information, a search warrant was approved in July 2025 for Davila’s apartment, where they say they were able to locate a hard drive, laptop, multiple SD memory cards, and a camera disguised as a towel hook. Police say that, upon review, over 400 files of child sexual abuse materials were discovered, with some including Davila in the videos.

Davila was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 28. He is charged with 10 counts of possession of photographs or sexual performances by a child, 10 or more images, with a bond of $500,030.
