A Jacksonville resident has struck it rich by winning $5 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket bought at a gas station on the Northside, as reported by the Florida Lottery on Friday.
Lucinda Joseph-Rann, 54, secured the $5 million jackpot from the “$5,000,000 CROSSWORD CASH” scratch-off game, according to a press announcement from the Florida Lottery. Opting for a lump-sum payout, she collected $3,262,138 after securing the game’s top prize at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
The press release also mentioned that Joseph-Rann purchased her lucky ticket at the Gate gas station situated at 60 Airport Center Dr., and the station received a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The Florida Lottery said the scratch-off game Joseph-Rann won million in features four top prizes of $5 million. However, the game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.9.
