Once again, President Donald Trump has directed his ire towards late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, labeling him a âloserâ and suggesting he deserves to be taken off the air after Kimmelâs latest televised jabs.
In a Thursday phone call to Fox Newsâ âThe Five,â Trump criticized Kimmel for a recent monologue that poked fun at newly appointed DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin.
âIâve seen this guy, and heâs a loser. His ratings are nonexistent. Heâs without talent and suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome,â Trump remarked during the call. âWhenever I catch his show, Iâm amazed heâs still on television. He shouldnât be; he should be fired.â
Trump affirmed that Mullin had an impressive fighting record, describing his past opponents as âtough cookiesâ and emphasizing that his experience demonstrates he remains âsomewhat of a fighter.â
âYou know, he became very successful,â the president went on. âHe took over a small company from his parents â and he made it very, very successful. Made money. He was also a very good fighter. I never heard of low-level MMA.â

Trump insisted Mullin had âa very good record in fighting,â calling his past opponents ârough cookies,â while adding the experience shows heâs still âsort of a fighter.â
âYou know, I call him country smart,â Trump added. âHeâs a very smart guy. Everybody loves him. And I think heâs gonna do a fantastic job.â
The fiery remarks come just two days after Kimmel ripped into Mullin during his March 24 monologue, sneering that the U.S. has âa plumber protecting us from terrorism now.â He also cracked, âWell, if it works for Super Mario, why not Markwayne?â and joked that rapper Lil Wayne mightâve been a better pick than former DHS chief Kristi Noem, adding, âAt least we could get a concert out of it.â
Itâs far from Trumpâs first swipe at Kimmel. Back in November, the late-night host fired back after Trump trashed him online, noting, âI have honestly lost count now of how many times the president has demanded I be pulled off the air. I mean, talk about a snowflake, this guy. Every five weeks he flips out and wants me fired.â
In September 2025, ABC âindefinitelyâ suspended Kimmelâs show after his controversial comments about Charlie Kirkâs assassination. Kimmel was off the air for a week before returning.
