Vice President Kamala Harris was ridiculed Friday after she delivered gloating remarks in response to the stock market losses after President Donald Trump announced sweeping tariffs on global trade.

Harris spoke at the Leading Women Defined Summit in Dana Point, California hosted by former CEO of BET Debra Lee.

‘There were many things we knew would happen. I’m not here to say I told you so,’ she said with a laugh as the audience applauded and cheered.

But her remarks drew fire online from critics who felt she sounded out of touch.

‘Kamala cackling about fear while Americans are safer, borders are tighter, and prices are dropping under Trump,’ X user Tiago Gomes wrote. ‘That nervous laugh says it all, she’s scared the grown-ups are back.’

Others mocked Harris for her massive loss against Trump in the 2024 election.

‘Says the woman who, in 3 months, spent $1.2B and left her campaign owing money. Sure, we will take financial advice from her,’ wrote David McGraw on X.

‘Given another chance, she still wouldn’t win. Attempting to run someone that people actually voted for would maybe work better,’ wrote Joel Keranen on X.

‘You don’t get to say I told you so and you offered no alternative. If you had, you would have won,’ wrote X user JT.

Others were still unimpressed with her political skills.

‘I can’t believe she was even considered a possible candidate for President,’ wrote Michael Chaney on X.

Harris urged everyone in the room to stand up and fight for their beliefs despite the loss the left experienced in 2024.

‘There’s great power in this room. And yes, the world is watching,’ Harris said. ‘But more importantly, there are people counting on us — to be kind, to be fierce, and to be together.’

Harris criticized organizations and the American people for remaining silent in the face of Trump’s early actions.

‘We are seeing people stay quiet. We are seeing organizations stay quiet. We are seeing capitulating to clearly unconstitutional threats,’ she added.

Harris said she would continue to speak out, even though she has remained mostly out of the spotlight since losing the election.

‘I’ll see you out there. I’m not going anywhere,’ she said.

Harris’ remarks only add to speculation that she is considering running again for political office, despite her 2024 setback against Trump.

The former vice president is reportedly considering entering the race to replace California Gov. Newsom who is term-limited and exploring a 2028 run for president.

That race experienced a shakeup on Wednesday after Xavier Becerra, former HHS Secretary for President Joe Biden, announced his decision to enter the race.

Democratic strategists in Washington, DC also expect Harris to run for president again, pointing to her significant name recognition in the party.
