Doug Emhoff, husband to Vice President Kamala Harris, was spotted mingling with celebrities at a glitzy Malibu event on Saturday. The gathering was part of the “No Kings” rally, a series of demonstrations held across Southern California aimed at opposing the Trump Administration.

Emhoff took to the stage at this particular rally, which was just one of 41 similar events happening throughout the region. These rallies serve as a platform for anti-Trump activists, who are also voicing their discontent over issues like the U.S. involvement in Iran. The largest of these rallies is anticipated to take place in downtown Los Angeles, where thousands of activists are expected to assemble.

A notable moment from the Malibu event was when comedian Kathy Griffin, infamous for her controversial photo involving a mock severed head of President Donald Trump, posed for a picture with Emhoff. This gesture highlighted the rally’s atmosphere of resistance against the current administration.

Among other famous faces, actors Sam Elliott, Kristen Johnston, and Nancy Lee Grahn made appearances. Elliott, celebrated for his iconic roles in “The Big Lebowski” and his Oscar-nominated performance in “A Star is Born,” sported a shirt emblazoned with the slogan: “Vote the bum out,” underscoring the event’s political message.

Actors Sam Elliott, Kristen Johnston, and Nancy Lee Grahn also turned up to the Malibu rally.

Elliott, known for his thick white mustache and roles in “The Big Lebowski” and his Oscar-nominated performance in “A Star is Born,” even wore a shirt that read: “Vote the bum out.”

“Malibu had a great turnout today. Power to the people!!” Griffin wrote in an her Instagram post from the event.

Her work in liberal spaces is well-known, and she’s been a prominent anti-Trump activist.

She held a sign calling ICE “Trump’s Lawless Militia.”

Emhoff has stayed politically active since his wife lost the presidential election in 2024, though his law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP conceded to the Trump administration, offering millions in pro-bono services to avoid an executive order targeting them.

He publicly disagreed with the decision and wanted to fight the executive order but was overruled, CNN reported.

Harris was recently forced to cancel a number of promotional events for her memoir “107 Days” in California amid controversy about her using taxpayer-funded security.

The California native pulled out of her ”A Conversation with Kamala Harris” appearances in Sacramento, San Diego and Anaheim, with ticketing company Ticketmaster refunding ticketholders and blaming a “scheduling conflict” for the decision.

Harris has not ruled a 2028 presidential run.

The husband-and-wife pair spent $8.15 million on their 4,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Malibu’s Point Dume, with heated pool, in-ground spa and fire pit.

Inside, the 1979 build features beamed ceilings, skylights, a wet bar and multiple entertaining spaces, as well as postcard-perfect sightlines of the Pacific.

The neighborhood is home to a number of other stars, including Leonardo DiCaprio and singers Cher and Lady Gaga. Silicon Valley power players Elon Musk and Peter Thiel have previously owned property there, but have since relocated to Texas and Florida.

Elsewhere, actors Annette Bening and Edward James Olmos were spotted taking part in the “No Kings” events at Studio City.

Bening held a sign featuring an image of Mary Poppins with Trump’s face, reading:
Super Callous Fragile Nihilistic Extra Halitosis.”

Olmos was seen standing front and center with marchers and walking past an upside-down American flag while giving a thumbs-up.
