A FEISTY Karoline Leavitt has blasted former US presidents’ excuses over stricter immigration and border controls as “BS.”

The White House press secretary praised Donald Trump’s “remarkable first six months” – but mocked his “brain-dead” predecessor.

Leavitt spoke about her boss’s achievements on the conservative Ruthless Podcast.

She was asked to “stop and look back” over the president’s busy first six months into his second administration as “so much has happened.”

Leavitt, 27, replied, “If you think back to [Trump’s reelection] campaign, the president promised so many things.

“But essentially, two main goals were central – conquering inflation and tightening border security. We emphasized these promises at each rally, regardless of our location nationwide.

“Those were always the top two issues in every single poll across every [demographic], and he has delivered on that, in six months’ time.

“It’s rare in the history of any presidency, irrespective of the political party, for a president to fulfill their top two campaign pledges within a six-month period.”

She further stated, “With inflation eliminated, prices are decreasing, and the economy is thriving once more—this morning’s front page of The Wall Street Journal declared that the economy has regained its ‘swagger.’

“And then look at the border, it’s so remarkable, and he did it all by executive order.”

But host Josh Holmes quickly asked, “We were told reliably you couldn’t do that?”

She disagreed, replying, “We were told that you needed a bill to secure the border, which was bullshit.

“You just needed him [as] president – and the American public trusted that.”

Her praise comes amid a controversial wave of immigration crackdowns directed by Trump’s administration.

Masked agents have been filmed in public detaining people and taking them into custody, “in a way that has no real comparison in the U.S. history of policing,” said the Associated Press.

Donald Trump’s advice to Karoline Leavitt

Karoline Leavitt said that before every press briefing she “checks-in” with her boss.

If she’s concerned about a controversial topic, she initially seeks his advice.

But, Trump always puts her mind at ease, and advises Leavitt on the best way to approach tricky subjects with journalists.

She said, “And then every time, before I take the podium, he says, ‘just have fun honey’.

“Those are always his parting words.”

However, Leavitt praised Trump, 79, for his “hard work,” adding that there was “more work to do, but it’s been a really successful ride so far.”

She told the podcast, “Look at what he’s already done – he’s already codified the entire MAGA agenda through Congress in six months with the One Big Beautiful Bill.

“He always says ‘I don’t get enough credit for stopping nuclear war’ between India and Pakistan, but he really did negotiate a ceasefire… [there’s been] success after success, [with] all the trade deals, [and] more to come.

“So it’s been a remarkable six months.

“The president works literally 24/7, and we’re having a lot of fun doing it.”

She had an impossible task to speak on behalf of a brain-dead president.

She also stuck the boot into his predecessor Joe Biden, 82, while expressing sympathy for former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

Leavitt said, “I think my predecessor in this role was not good at the job for a lot of reasons.

“But I almost feel bad for her, because she had an impossible task to speak on behalf of a brain-dead president. I say that with sincerity in my heart.”

HAVING FUN

Leavitt reflected, too, on Trump’s enjoyment of being US President for a second term.

She said her boss was “definitely having a lot more fun in Washington this time around than he did the first time.

“He says in his first term he was not only fighting to govern, but he was fighting for survival… and now he’s back, he’s been feeling vindicated.

“And it’s fun when you do what you said you were going to do, unlike politicians who just lie and say one thing, and do something else, and then you have to figure out how to get away with it with your voters.

“The president says something, and he does it… it’s fun.”

Leavitt also said that Trump’s success had made her job “easy” and that she was “grateful” to have a boss who had “empowered her.”

She’s the sixth working mother in a row to hold the post.

Who is Karoline Leavitt?

The New Hampshire woman is the youngest person ever to be named White House press secretary

Karoline Leavitt, 27, made her debut in the White House briefing room in late January 2025.

She is the public face of President Donald Trump’s second administration.

Leavitt was picked for the prestigious – and tough – job after impressing Trump while working as his transition spokesperson during his presidency campaign.

She endeared herself to Trump by her no-nonsense defense of him in news interviews and her take-no-prisoners style, said Trump advisers.

Leavitt is the sixth working mother in a row to hold the post.

Leavitt attended Saint Anselm College, a liberal arts school in Manchester, New Hampshire, on an athletic scholarship.

She played on the softball team and graduated in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in politics and communication.

Leavitt initially wanted to be a reporter, and even worked for local TV station WMUR.

But she later admitted to being “glad I didn’t continue down that path, working on the dark side.”

Inspired by Trump, Leavitt applied for a White House internship during his first term and was “stunned” to be accepted.

She worked in the correspondence office, where she wrote letters in the president’s name.

Leavitt later approached Kayleigh McEnany, the fourth and final press secretary of Trump’s first term, for a job in the press office.

She joined as an assistant press secretary.

After Trump lost reelection in 2020, Leavitt became communications director for Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York.

Leavitt ran for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives from New Hampshire in 2022, winning the Republican primary.

However, she lost the general election to Democrat Chris Pappas.

Leavitt then became national spokesperson for Trump’s reelection campaign.

She gave birth to her first child, a boy named Nicholas, three days before Trump was wounded in an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania last July. She quickly returned to work.

Trump hailed her as a “smart, tough, and highly effective communicator.”

Plus, Leavitt gave an interesting glimpse into what happens behind the scenes, before giving press briefings.

And she revealed Trump’s no-fuss advice to her.

She said, “Before every briefing I do my check-in with him.

“And I ask him whatever question is out there that I don’t know how he feels on.

“I’m like ‘sir, they are going to hammer me on this one today, what are we doing?’

“And he tells me how he feels, and then we go over, let’s say it this or that way.

“And then every time, before I take the podium, he says, ‘just have fun honey’. Those are always his parting words.”
