Kelly Clarkson abruptly cancels Las Vegas residency shows for the second time

Music legend and TV presenter Kelly Clarkson unexpectedly called off all her August shows for the “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions — The Las Vegas Residency” on Wednesday evening.

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” the singer wrote in an Instagram post.

This is the second time Clarkson dropped residency shows at the last minute in just over a month.

The singer said the most recent cancellation is due to health issues with her ex-husband, talent manager Brandon Blackstock.

“While I usually keep my personal life away from the spotlight, this past year, my children’s father has been unwell, and right now, they need my full attention,” Clarkson explained.

The “Breakaway” singer has primary custody of the two kids she shares with Blackstock: River, 10, and Remington, 8.

“I deeply apologize to everyone who purchased tickets to these shows and sincerely appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding,” announced the “American Idol” champion.

Clarkson’s next round of performances are scheduled for November 2025, according to her website.

Fans were taken aback earlier in July when the three-time Grammy awardee cancelled the opening night performance along with another show over the Independence Day weekend due to vocal strain.

“I am heartbroken to delay tonight’s and tomorrow’s openings at Caesars,” Clarkson expressed in a July 4 Instagram post. “The preparation and rehearsals have strained my voice. I want the performances to be exceptional for you all and must protect my voice from serious harm, so I’m taking this weekend and next week to recover and ensure we deliver what you all deserve.”

A Vegas insider confirmed that Clarkson did not want to cause “serious damage” to her voice during the opening weekend.

Yet, an insider informed us that the performer was grappling with “serious hidden battles few are aware of,” leading to “emotional” and “physical” struggles behind the scenes.

Her residency rollercoaster happened months after she mysteriously disappeared from “The Kelly Clarkson Show” for 10 episodes in March, with no initial explanation.

Insiders previously told us she took her kids to see her ex-husband, who was sick at the time.

“The Voice” judge and her ex-husband have had a tumultuous relationship since Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020 after seven years of marriage.

The filing was followed by a lengthy legal battle surrounding their $10.4 million ranch in Montana, custody of two kids and Blackstock’s request for spousal support.

The exes settled their divorce in March 2022 with Clarkson receiving primary custody of the kids with Blackstock having them one weekend a month.

The “Because of You” songbird also won the house but was ordered to pay Blackstock $115,000 a month in spousal support until January 2024.

Clarkson spoke candidly about her dating life during a Vegas residency show on July 21 at the Colosseum at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace stage.

“Dating can be very difficult, which is why I don’t,” the “Miss Independent” vocalist quipped.
