The Jewish Congregation received phone calls threatening to “kill everyone,” according to the Venice Police Department.
VENICE, Fla. — Authorities in Sarasota County are responding to a reported threat at the Jewish Congregation of Venice.
Shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the Venice Police Department reported its presence at the scene on North Auburn Road alongside the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office and Venice Fire Rescue.
According to the police, the Jewish Congregation received threatening phone calls with intentions to “kill everyone.” Currently, the threat is confined to these phone calls.
No injuries have been reported, and there is no suspect in custody.
“This threat is serious in nature and is being investigated with law enforcement on site,” the police department wrote.
People are asked to avoid the area as the scene remains “very active.”
