LOS ANGELES — A mini “Gilmore Girls” reunion happened in Hollywood when star Lauren Graham was honored with a Walk of Fame star Friday.

Her former co-stars Scott Patterson, who played Luke Danes; Kelly Bishop, who played Emily Gilmore; Matt Czuchry, who played Logan Huntzberger; and Yanic Truesdale, who played Michel Gerard, attended the event. 

Sam Pancake, a comedian and actor featured in the 2016 revival of the show, hosted the gathering. He introduced Graham and highlighted her lengthy career, as fans nearby cheered for her successes. 

“Her body of work is filled with feminist characters who are spirited, smart and hilarious,” he said, before outlining her volunteer efforts, writing, and numerous accolades. 

Show creator and writer Amy Sherman-Palladino also spoke at the ceremony, recalling the hiring process to find a star for the show. 

“She came in, she sat down, she said two words and I was like ‘God (expletive), it’s her,'” she shared. “Lauren Graham transformed my entire life… I owe you everything and more, you mean everything to me.” 

The show, which spanned seven years and 153 episodes, celebrates its 25th anniversary Sunday.

“This is so overwhelming and so nice,” Graham said. “This was not on any bucket list I ever made, not even the secret ones.” 

She expressed gratitude to fans for being so “kind” and “enthusiastic”, and also thanked her cast mates, representatives, show runners, and writers for helping shape her characters, particularly Lorelai Gilmore.

Graham is best recognized for her “Gilmore Girls” role as Lorelai, a bed-and-breakfast owner in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. The story unfolds like a fairytale, following Lorelai as she builds her life independently of her affluent parents, as described in the show summary. 

The show won one Emmy award and had an additional 23 wins and 85 nominations across various award categories and shows, like the People’s Choice Awards, the Golden Globes, the Teen Choice Awards and many others, according to IMDb. 

Graham herself has won seven awards and has 22 total nominations. She was awarded the 2,823rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
