Lisa slammed for Met Gala look with 'Rosa Parks' panties

From “The White Lotus” to white-hot controversy.

K-pop superstar and Season 3 cast member Lisa made her Met Gala debut Monday night — and promptly found herself at the center of a firestorm.

The 28-year-old Blackpink artist graced the event in a bespoke Louis Vuitton ensemble that appeared to pay homage to the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme, which honored black dandyism.

Lisa’s outfit included an intricately embroidered black blazer, logo-patterned tights, and a revealing lace bodysuit that was quite daring, particularly on the lower half.

The buzz wasn’t just about the pantsless trend she embraced.

A closer examination of the lace design on her undergarment unveiled patterns that resemble faces, one of which some speculate closely resembles the late civil rights leader Rosa Parks.

“Rosa Parks on your underwear less than 3 months after a compilation of you saying the N word goes viral is kinda crazy but maybe thats just me!” one X user alleged.

Another added, “Who the hell decided it was a good idea to put the faces of influential black women on a pair of PANTIES.”

The graphic motif — a collage of faces printed throughout her look — was most visible below the waist, sparking immediate backlash across social media.

“I was wondering why Rosa Parks was trending got scared…. I know Lisa does not have Rosa Parks all over her underwear right now. WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA????? Mind you not only is it highly distasteful, how is this on theme?” asked another horrified fan.

It didn’t help that the scandal comes just weeks after resurfaced pre-fame audition clips showed Lisa and fellow Blackpink members Jennie and Rosé reportedly using a racial slur onstage.

None of the idols have publicly acknowledged or apologized for the alleged incident, fueling even more outrage over the perceived disrespect.

“Despite saying the N-word multiple times and never apologizing, Lisa doesn’t seem to care as she wears underwear with images of ROSA PARKS, a civil rights icon who fought against racial injustice,” fumed another critic on X.

One user didn’t mince words, calling the outfit the “hands down worst look of the night.”

While Lisa has yet to respond to the backlash, the viral phrase “Rosa Parks underwear” was already trending on X by the time the gala’s last champagne coupe had been clinked.

According to The Cut, a Louis Vuitton rep confirmed that the design was created by American artist Henry Taylor, who was personally tapped by Pharrell Williams for his spring 2024 collection.

The print, they explained, features “portraits of figures who have been a part of the artist’s life.”

But are any of those figures actually Rosa Parks? The outlet followed up with the brand for clarification — but no names have been confirmed yet.
