Hakeem Robinson, a rapper from Jacksonville who goes by the name Ksoo, is currently on trial for the murder of Charles McCormick. Testimonies are ongoing, with the possibility that Robinson’s father might testify.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Day three in the trial for Jacksonville rapper Hakeem Robinson, known as Ksoo, continues Friday.
Robinson, 26, and Leroy Whitaker, 24, are on trial together for the January 2020 murder of Charles McCormick, however, both men have separate juries.
McCormick was shot to death in a shopping center on Merrill Road on Jan. 15, 2020.
In the opening statements on Wednesday, prosecutors described the murder as personal for Robinson, suggesting that a “diss track” made by McCormick, which mentioned Robinson’s deceased brother Willie Addison, served as the motivation for the crime.
On the other hand, Robinson’s lawyer, Tara Kawass, highlighted discrepancies between Robinson’s appearance and that of the individual caught on dashcam video during the murder.
Several people took the stand to testify on Thursday, including a woman who described what she saw at the murder scene and the officer who engaged in the subsequent pursuit following the murder.
