Israelis and Iranians celebrate together in streets of London after Ayatollah Khamenei's death

London Streets Unite: Israelis and Iranians Celebrate Following Ayatollah Khamenei's Passing

A bustling London street became the epicenter of an impromptu gathering on Saturday night, as hundreds united in a powerful display of solidarity following the reported death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Participants waved Israeli and Iranian flags side by side, creating a striking visual of unity.

A brief yet impactful video captured this moment, showing under the glow of streetlights. Posted with the caption “Persian and Jew celebrating together in London,” the clip quickly gained traction online, amassing over 3.5 million views, 93,000 likes, and 18,000 shares.

The footage showcases a diverse and joyous crowd, comprised of Iranian immigrants and refugees standing alongside Jewish residents of London, celebrating in harmony.

Throughout the video, the chant “Am Yisrael Chai,” meaning “The people of Israel live” in Hebrew, resonates continuously, adding to the atmosphere of unity.

Numerous Lion and Sun flags, representing Iran before the 1979 Islamic Revolution, flutter beside the iconic blue-and-white flags of Israel, symbolizing a shared moment of celebration.

The unmistakable image of a red double-decker bus passing in the background further confirms the vibrant London setting.

Some participants appear to be wearing kippot, and at one point a woman is hoisted onto someone’s shoulders, waving an object overhead as the crowd cheers.

The gathering appeared to be a direct reaction to Operation Epic Fury, the joint US-Israeli military campaign that killed Khamenei and dozens of senior Iranian officials earlier that day.

The strike has sparked sharply divided reactions globally — from mourning inside Iran to celebrations among segments of the Iranian diaspora who oppose the clerical regime.
