Here’s a philosophical riddle for our readers: If Michelle Obama does a podcast, and nobody is around to hear it, did it ever really happen?
Sorry to go all zen on folks, but that is a dilemma facing the former First Lady as she receives humiliating news on the podcast front. Mainly, the number of people actually listening is few and far between.
The podcast “IMO,” launched in early March, received great publicity. It features Mrs. Obama and her brother, Craig Robinson, discussing riveting topics such as whether or not beets deserve warning labels.
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica. Whatever the topic, it appears listeners are tuning out the duo.
The Apple Podcast chart shows IMO down in the number 21 slot, while Spotify has them faring even worse – a dreadful 34th.

If one ventures over to YouTube, they’ll find some truly dismal numbers on video clips from the show. Believe it or not, the aforementioned conversation about beets drew some of their biggest numbers, garnering 39,000 views thus far after posting three weeks ago.
Some of the more recent clips have under 10,000 views each as Michelle and Craig struggle to find their voice in the podcast market.
On both Spotify and Apple, “IMO” ranks well behind other political or entertainment names, including “The Tucker Carlson Show,” “The Joe Rogan Experience,” and the sex podcast Kamala Harris helped promote, “Call Her Daddy.”
The new podcast by Michelle Obama and her brother Craig has accomplished one thing – it has exposed them as two boring people with zero creativity and nothing interesting to say. That’s why the podcast is tanking!https://t.co/qUFsnSYgIL
