Thieves have vandalized dozens of luxury cars along Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway and left residents fearing for their safety.

A Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputy alerted those living in the area about the spate of  break-ins on Memorial Day weekend.

Authorities said nearly 24 cars were targeted between Memorial Day and June 8.

One woman had her Range Rover smashed in by thieves who stole a purse and sunglasses while she partied at a nearby beach home. That woman described seeing her beloved jeep burglarized as ‘traumatizing.’

CCTV footage captured the burglary and caught the suspects wiping their prints to avoid being caught.

Thieves, wearing gloves and masks, smashed the windows of her car and stole a purse and sunglasses.

She caught the entire incident on surveillance cameras outside her home and it shows the thieves pull up in a gray Toyota Prius.

They quickly targeted her friend’s car before heading down the road to smash into other vehicles.

‘Walking out and seeing everything vandalized was just traumatizing because you don’t feel safe in your own home and Malibu is so peaceful, everyone loves coming here,’ she told local television station KTLA.

‘It just hurts to see that these guys would have the audacity to break in and get away with it, just walk away, get in their car and just live their day by day from that.

Jai Hendrix also had her car broken into and caught the incident on camera.

‘They were kind of professionals at it. I mean, with the surveillance videos, they brushed something onto the window before and used a tool to break in,’ she said.

‘They seemed like they kind of knew what they were doing.’

She believes the thieves came prepared and scouted the area carefully and took their time to plan the burglaries.

‘Kind of ironic because we’re immersed in all these beautiful homes over here and then you can’t even really park your car out front because your car can get smashed and broken into,’ Hendrix said.

Those who have had their vehicles damaged along the Pacific Coast Highway are having to use rental cars while theirs are being repaired.
