The Lake City Police Department said the man was having sex with a teenager.

LAKE CITY, Fla. — Authorities apprehended a man at a helicopter landing site in Lake DeSoto on Friday. He was allegedly discovered engaging in sexual acts with a teenager inside his car, according to the Lake County Police Department.

The LCPD reported identifying a “suspicious vehicle” parked near the entrance of a helicopter pad on the 220 block of NE Lake DeSoto Circle. As officers approached the vehicle using spotlights, they observed two individuals engaged in intercourse in the front seat.

One of the people was 29-year-old Bryon English. Police discovered that the other person in the car was a minor, between the ages of 16 and 17.

They investigated the vehicle and also found an open liquor bottle and marijuana, LCPD said.

The man, named English, faces several charges: sexual assault related to indecent, lewd, or lascivious acts involving certain minors, specifically a victim aged 16 or 17 and the offender being 24 or older. Additional charges include contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of marijuana in an amount less than 20 grams.

He was taken to the Columbia County Detention Center.
