CHICAGO (WLS) — The venerable Chicago Auto Show, now in its 118th year, is making a grand return as America’s longest-running automotive exhibition.

The public is invited to explore the 2026 Chicago Auto Show starting this Saturday. However, the festivities kicked off a day earlier with the exclusive “First Look for Charity” event, offering attendees a sneak peek before the official opening.

Come Saturday morning, McCormick Place will throw open its doors at 10 a.m., unveiling a dazzling array of the latest car models, electric vehicles, indoor tracks, and various exhibits sure to captivate car enthusiasts of all ages.

Ahead of Saturday’s main attractions, ABC7 reflected on the cherished tradition of “First Look for Charity.” This black-tie affair not only serves as a stylish prelude to the auto show but also plays a significant philanthropic role by raising substantial funds for local charities.

According to the general manager of the Chicago Auto Show, this event stands as Chicago’s largest single-day fundraiser, consistently generating over $2 million for 18 different local charities. Aptly dubbed the “adult prom” or “car prom,” the event is marked by its elegant dress code and charitable spirit.

The Chicago Auto Show will be open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday at McCormick Place, with plenty of opportunity to attend, as the show continues until Monday, February 16.

If you plan to go to the show, public transit is recommended. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for kids and seniors, and toddlers 3 and under are free. Discount coupons are available at your local auto dealer.

ABC7 is a proud sponsor of the event. You can tune into our Chicago Auto Show special at 6 p.m. Saturday on ABC7 and wherever you stream.
