Over 100 firefighters are actively fighting a massive fire that led several high-rise buildings to catch fire in the heart of Baltimore on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials from the Baltimore City Fire Department (BCFD) confirmed that the five-alarm fire is located downtown near North Howard and West Fayette streets. Firefighting teams were still working to control the fire as of 4:40 p.m.
According to officials, one building has collapsed, and two additional four-story buildings caught fire. These three buildings are thought to have been vacant, but firefighters have not entered the premises due to their instability.
