Authorities in Colorado are actively looking for those involved in the theft of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles valued at $1.4 million, mere days after the global launch of the new gaming system.
The heist occurred at a truck stop the morning of June 8, Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said on X.
A truck driver reported the discovery of a break-in during a pre-trip inspection. His trailer had been breached, resulting in the theft of several pallets of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles – a total of 2,810 units were taken, according to the report.
Each Nintendo console is valued at $499, the sheriff’s office said.

If the suspects are found, they could face charges of felony theft valued at $1 million or more and criminal mischief.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office tipline at 720-874-8477 and can remain anonymous, if they choose.

By comparison, the original Switch launched in 2017 at a retail price of $299.
