An angry customer who hurled a cup of steaming coffee at a McDonald’s employee in Saginaw, Michigan, was quickly identified by the community. The police were inundated with over 100 tips pinpointing her identity soon after they shared a video of the incident.

Eyewitness Tara Martus captured a portion of the heated exchange on video, showcasing the tense interaction between the customer and the staff member.

In the footage, the woman complains about waiting at the McDonald’s for an hour. The employee informs her that her breakfast order was automatically canceled due to the end of breakfast service. Despite the employee’s assurances that a refund had been processed, which would take 48 hours to appear, the woman remains irate.

As the employee attempts to walk away, the customer shouts profanities, removes the lid from her coffee cup, and throws the hot beverage at the departing worker.

The Buena Vista Police Department initially sought help from the public but updated their social media post within an hour, announcing they had identified the suspect.

Detective Russ Pahssen from the Buena Vista Police Department shared with MLive that they received “over 100” tips, identifying the woman in just two minutes, though she had not yet been apprehended.

The employee suffered minor burns, and the department recommended the suspect be charged with felonious assault, MLive reported.
