Initially, emergency services responded to reports suggesting a vehicle had struck a building, pinning a person beneath it. However, upon arrival, first responders found no structural damage to any buildings, and thankfully, no one was trapped under the vehicle.
According to authorities speaking with FOX 5 New York, the truck’s impact with the van forced the latter onto the crowded sidewalk, resulting in a frightening moment for pedestrians. This unexpected turn of events highlighted the dangers that can arise even from parked vehicles in a city as vibrant and busy as New York.
When they arrived, first responders did not see any structural damage. Officials later confirmed that no one was pinned at the scene.
